Mary Regina "Jeannie" Jacobs
1945 - 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Regina "Jeannie" Jacobs on October 22, 2024, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Bill Jacobs, Jeannie was a devoted mother to Alison (John) and the late Jeff (2023), and a cherished grandmother to Clara, Sawyer, Sam, Josie, and Liam.

Jeannie was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Margaret Dupuis, and her brother, John Dupuis. She shared a close bond with her sister, Barb Poulin, and her sisters-in-law, Barb Van Velzer (Claude, predeceased) and the late Elizabeth Gormandy. Jeannie’s love extended to her nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom felt her unwavering support and affection.

Born in New Brunswick and raised near Windsor, Jeannie earned degrees in English, Teacher Education, and a Master’s in Religious Education. She spent 50 years in Belleville, ON, as an active member of the St. Joseph’s Church community. Jeannie’s marriage to Bill was a beautiful example of love and partnership that lasted 57 years.

Jeannie was a gifted teacher who began her career at 21, and she had a unique ability to reach students in need of guidance. Her love for learning and compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on those she met, and she was cherished by her grandchildren for her wisdom and genuine interest in their lives.
